ASDA shoppers have been rushing out to buy a heated airer scanning for half price.

The Daewoo airer has been slashed to £21 while it is still selling for £42 on the supermarket’s website.

The only drawback is that the discounted price seems to be available at just one Asda branch in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester.

And there’s only a handful left too.

One shopper posted a photo of the airer and their receipt on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group earlier today (April 25).

They said: “Daewoo heated airer with wings reduced to £21 in Asda Radcliffe.”

They added: “There were about four or five left at 8pm at the back far left of the store. Furthest end of the candle aisle.”

You can always try your local Asda store to see if they have the airer for £21, but you should call ahead to make sure it has the appliance in stock, and for the discounted price.

The 230watt foldable heated airer comes with a three-year warranty and Asda’s website says it costs just 8p an hour to run.

It also has a 4.5 out of 5 star rating on Asda’s website and plenty of shoppers have been full of praise for the model.

One said: “Best item I have purchased,” adding: “An hour is enough to nearly dry your clothing and so much cheaper than a tumble dryer.”

Another happy customer said: “Amazing value for money. Left on for two hours and the clothes were near enough dry and can then be used as a normal airer switched off.”

A third said: “I’ve recently bought one of these and so glad I did.”

Of course, you should always shop around when buying something like this.

You can use the Google Shopping tab or websites like pricespy.co.uk that let you compare thousands of products.

That said, we couldn’t find any other retailers selling a similar heated airer for less than Asda.

Robert Dyas is selling a 230watt heated airer for £44.99, down from £69.99, and delivery is an extra £4.95.

Meanwhile, Wilko is selling a 230watt model for £49, down from £54.

Are heated airers cheaper than tumble dryers?

Households have been turning to energy-saving gadgets since bills soared.

Alternatives such as air fryers and heated airers have surged in popularity as people look to cut back on costs.

A heated airer is different to a normal airer in that you plug it in and the bars heat up, drying your clothes quicker.

But are the appliances actually cheaper to use than tumble dryers? In most cases, yes.

Tumble dryers are one of the most energy-guzzling appliances in the home.

According to Uswitch, they cost roughly £1.53 for a one-hour cycle whereas a typical heated airer will set you back 62p for eight hours of use.

So using an airer instead of a tumble dryer will likely save you heaps on your bills.

How else can I save on my energy bills?

It’s not just switching from tumble dryers to heated airers that will save you money on your bills.

There’s dozens of tricks and tips you can use to cut back on costs.

For example, switching from normal lightbulbs to LED ones can save you a staggering £40 a month.

Meanwhile, switching appliances off that are on standby could save you about £24 a year.

And switching to energy-efficient appliances, while costly in the short term, can save you around £425 a year on your bills.
