The offer applies to almost 300 bottles of red, white, rosé and sparkling wines both in-store and online.

The deal is also valid on orders for delivery before 11.59pm on Monday 14 February and only when you buy three or more.

All of the bottles have been selected by experts – so you can wine (and dine) your loved one.

They include popular grapes from renowned wine producing countries.

Pair pasta or paella perfectly with a bottle of Campo Viejo Rioja Garnacha Red Wine for £6.50 in the offer (the same bottle was £8 at Tesco when we checked).

Or try an Italian classic with Prosecco Prosecco Spumante Extra Dry for just £5.99 – a delicious sparkler with zesty lemon.

Or why not head to the new world for fresh flavours of Kaffir lime and passionfruit with Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough (was £10, now £8).

Rack up notes of crisp strawberries and raspberries with an elegant carafe of Kylie Minogue Prosecco Rosé – just £9.

Asda’s Ross Watson said: “We’re really excited to introduce our Buy three or more and save 20% offer to Asda shoppers, making it easier for more of our customers to access brilliant value on some amazing wines this Valentine’s Day.

“We’re certain shoppers will find something they love – whether that’s a go to favourite or something new and exciting to try.

He added: “The Extra Special Pinot Noir (£6.50), Malbec Rosé (£6), Chablis (£16) and Prosecco (£8) are all fantastic examples of their varieties, but there’s so much choice on this deal.”

The retailer has 633 stores in England but remember to shop around to make sure you’re getting the best price or use a tool such as trolley.co.uk.

If you want to order online, delivery slots cost between £1 and £4.50 and Click & Collect is just 50p.

However, there is a £3 charge if your order is less than £40 for delivery or £25 for Click & Collect.

Asda is also offering romantic meal deals from £15.

Starters, sides and desserts are all £2.50, mains are £7 and drinks or chocolates are £7.

The menu includes lamb shanks, steak and chicken parmigiana.

You’ll also get a Sky Movies voucher worth £5.49.
