SAVVY shoppers have been rushing to buy a “bargain” essential that will bring a smile to your kids’ faces this Christmas.
The £2 Christmas Eve boxes from Asda have proved popular on social media with people calling them “excellent value”.

Several Facebook users have posted the boxes on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group.
People were quick to respond and tag their friends to share the cheap find.
One commented: “£2! Bargain!”
Another wrote: “These are excellent value.”
One woman replied to her friend: “We will have to shopping soon.”
An online reviewer also said: “great buy and such a bargain nice and strong – ideal for lots of presents to open surprises for everyone – I have bought a couple and will be getting more.”
There are two versions of the boxes available and you can grab both in store or online.
One is a colourful Christmassy scene with festive characters that says “holly jolly Christmas” on the side.
The other is designed to look like a package from the North Pole and has “love from Santa’s Elves x” on the top and “special delivery on the side.

Each box costs just £2 and is designed so that parents don’t have to splash out cash on pre-made ones.
Christmas Eve boxes have become all the range in recent years, for both kids and adults.
The hamper of treats is usually filled with pyjamas, toys, trinkets, books, chocolates, booze and other goodies.
Some boxes can set you back up to £150 from posh shops like Selfridges and Fortnum and Mason, last year we rounded up some of the ones on the market.
Asda’s bargain £2 offering gives parents the choice of filling it up themselves and saving some money along the way.
The boxes are reasonably large at 12.7cm x 36.2cm x 27cm so you should be able to fit a considerable amount of goodies in them.
As always, we do always recommend having a look around for cheaper options to make sure you’re getting the most for your money.
After a quick Google we found some alternatives from Card Factory and Tesco but they are slightly more expensive at £2.99 and £4 respectively.
It’s still worth having a look around first to make sure we haven’t missed an even better offer – there’s never a bad time to bag a bargain.
