WE have become a nation of iced coffee lovers, with drink-at-home sales up 53 per cent in the past year.

But when it costs around £3 or more every time, that’s a caffeine high that could really leave your finances low.

Here’s how to get your cold coffee fix for less.

SUPER DEAL: Budget supermarkets offer good canned cold brew coffee and my favourite is Aldi’s Light Latte Macchiato, which tastes amazing and comes in at just 59p for 250ml.

The Starbucks version is £1.70 at Ocado and you get 30ml less.

SAVING: £1.11

SWEET IDEA: Don’t pay extra for syrups when buying your flavoured iced coffee.

Instead keep your favourites in the car and just add after you have bought.

Get Tate & Lyle’s vanilla coffee syrup for £2 at Ocado – it’s usually £2.80 at Sainsbury’s.

Or make your own with one cup of sugar, one cup of water and two tablespoons of vanilla extract.

Heat the sugar and water and bring to a boil, simmer for eight minutes, then cool and stir in vanilla extract.

Pop in a jar and it can last a couple of weeks.

SAVING: 80p

GO HALVES: Split the coffee and split the savings.

Order a large iced coffee — around £3.30 at most places — and ask for an extra cup with ice.

Split the ice and liquid between the two cups for you and a pal.

There’s still plenty to go round and you’ll each pay half the price.

SAVING: around £1.65

LESS IS MORE: Go big in a small cup.

Order a small iced latte from Costa for around £2.55 in a large cup and then top up with some extra milk.

The larger size is around £3.05, so it is an extra way to save.

SAVE: 50p

APPY DAYS: Get yourself down to Costa today.

Download their app and use it to pay and you can get all iced drinks for 50p.

Normally a large iced latte will set you back around £2.65.

You have until midnight tonight!
