EASTER is here with two bank holiday dates to enjoy for an extended weekend.

So does a bank holiday mean banks are closed? Here’s the Easter opening hours of Lloyds, NatWest, Nationwide, Santander, Barclays and HSBC.

Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland

Lloyds Banking Group, which includes Bank of Scotland, Halifax and Lloyds Bank, will be closing their branches on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

Some branches will be opening on Easter Saturday.

To see if your nearest branch is opening or not, use the Branch Locator which will give you all the information you need.

In contrary to England, Wales and Northern Ireland, Easter Monday is not an official bank holiday in Scotland.

However since 1996, banks in Scotland have closed in line with the rest of the UK.

Northern Ireland will have an extra closing day on Easter Tuesday too.

Their 24/7 telephone banking lines will be open from 7am till 11pm.

You can contact the Bank of Scotland by calling 0345 721 3141.

For Lloyds Bank, call 0345 300 0000 and for Halifax, call 0345 720 3040.

NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland

NatWest and sister bank Royal Bank of Scotland are closing all branches on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

All branches are normally closed on Sunday and the same applies for the Easter weekend.

The branches will be open on Saturday according to their normal opening hours.

Both banks’ phone lines will be operating usual hours.

Nationwide is closing all of its branches on Good Friday, as well as Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. 

However, branches will be open on Saturday.

If you have an urgent inquiry when branches are closed, you can contact Nationwide Building Society by calling 0345 730 2011.

Santander

Santander is closing all branches on Friday, Sunday and Monday over the Easter bank holiday weekend. 

Some branches will be open on Saturday while others may be closed too.

Use the Branch & ATM Locator tool to check whether your nearest branch is open.

Santander will be operating their call centre which you can reach on 08009123123.

The call centre is open seven days a week from 8am to 6pm.

You can also contact the bank through their online chat function

Barclays

Barclays branches are closed on bank holidays, including Good Friday and Easter Monday.

To check what time your nearest bank branch is open on Saturday, make sure to use the Branch Locator tool.

If you need to get in touch with the bank when they are closed, you can use the online “chat” function or call the bank on 0345 734 5345.

Be aware though that customer services may be operating reduced hours over the long weekend.

HSBC

HSBC confirmed that they will not be open on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

To find the times of when they will be open on Easter Saturday, simple use their branch finder tool.

The contact centres will be open over Easter from 8am to 8pm every day and customers can find the telephone number on the back of their card.

They also said that customers can contact HSBC via the mobile app or through Online banking 24/7.
