APPLE has gone all out with big new features for the iPhone.
We got a glimpse of a brand new customisable Lock Screen and even much-desired upgrades to iMessage.
But beyond all the headline stuff, there were plenty of quiet announcements.
They may be small but they’ll make a world of difference to how you use your iPhone by the time iOS 16 lands in the fall.
See Wi-Fi passwords
Apple is finally adding the ability to see Wi-Fi passwords stored on your iPhone.
The tech giant has long resisted such a feature, but now if you’re having trouble sharing passwords with friends and family, you can simply go in and read it out.
Instead of trying to find it on the bottom of your internet router…
Lock hidden photos
No one will ever be able to snoop on your hidden photo folder again.

While you’ve been able to hide any embarrassing or naughty pictures from your main photo stream, practically everyone knew where to find the hidden folder, which made it all a bit pointless.
Well now, it’ll be password protected by default.
You can also use Face ID or Touch ID to make it even easier.
Better keyboard
iPhone’s keyboard is getting a much needed improvement in the form of haptic feedback.
This means whenever you touch a letter you’ll get a gentle vibration.
It may not sound like much but it really helps you know when you’ve hit a letter and makes typing more seamless.
Face ID in landscape
Many found it odd that Face ID only ever worked when you held it in portrait mode.
Well, now if you’ve got your iPhone in landscape, Face ID will finally work.
That solves the nuisance of having tilt back and forth whenever you’re using an app horizontally.
Improved parental controls
Managing kids’ devices has just got a whole lot easier too.
Instead of rummaging through the settings, you can now receive info on iMessage.
So if your daughter or son request another 15 mins to play a game before bed, it’ll all be there to see, where you can choose to give them more time – or tell them no.
