Apple debuted the new Apple Watch Series 7 during its annual product event Tuesday, which was held online for the second year in a row due to the lingering coronavirus pandemic.
The watch, although packed with new features, has a new look from its predecessor with narrow boarders around the face that allow for a near all-screen display -making it 20 percent larger than the Series 6.
The tech giant boasts that this device is its ‘most durable Apple Watch ever, with a stronger, more crack-resistant front crystal.’
The Series 7 is also the first to include an IP6X certification for resistance to dust and maintain a WR50 water resistance rating.
Apple Watch Series 7 starts at $399 and will be available sometime this fall, according to Apple.

Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer, said in a statement: ‘Apple Watch Series 7 delivers significant improvements — from our largest and most advanced display, to enhanced durability and faster charging — making the world’s best smartwatch better than ever before.
‘Powered by watchOS 8, Apple Watch brings useful new capabilities to help customers stay connected, track activity and workouts, and better understand their overall health and wellness.’
Apple upgraded the Always-On Retina display to provide up to 70 percent more brightness than the Series 6, which makes ‘it easier to see the watch face without having to lift the wrist or wake the display,’ according to Apple.
Because of the larger display, users can now experience the new QWERTY keyboard that can be tapped or swiped with QuickPath.
