Apple held its ‘Unleashed’ event today, which was held virtually due to the lingering coronavirus pandemic.

The Air Pods 3 are the first version to feature a new design since the technology was first launched in 2016.

The pair is equipped with force sensor like the AirPods Pro, but now includes a new low-distortion driver for powerful bass and crisp high frequencies.

AirPods will now support spatial audio to ‘create something truly multi-dimensional’, offering ‘a whole new way to experience music’.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketingy, said during the event: ‘ We are excited to introduce the next generation of AirPods, featuring unrivaled sound through Adaptive EQ and spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, along with seamless interaction between Apple devices — making the world’s best-selling headphones even better.’

The new design of AirPods is lightweight and contoured, sitting at just the right angle for comfort and to direct audio into the ear. For a more subtle appearance, the stem is shorter than the previous generation and features the same intuitive force sensor as AirPods Pro for media control.

Users can now choose between fun colors like yellow, blue and orange, along with the previously available hues of space gray, black and white
