Owners of the iPhone 15 Pro are flooding the web with reports that the smartphone is overheating more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit after a few minutes of use.
Industry experts have suggested it is due to ‘compromises made in the thermal system design to achieve a lighter weight,’ but Apple recently said the issue stems from a bug in iOS 17.
An Apple spokesperson told DailyMail.com that users might notice their iPhone 15 Pro feeling warmer when they set it up, restore from backup, wirelessly charge it, or use graphics-intensive or processor-intensive apps.

Users are expected to see an operating system update, iOS 17.0.3, shortly that should fix the overheating issue plaguing the iPhone 15 Pro – but Apple is yet to say when it will be issued.

‘These conditions are normal, and your device will return to a regular temperature when the process is complete or when you finish your activity,’ the Apple spokesperson shared.
‘If your device doesn’t display a temperature warning, you can keep using your device.’
The tech giant has said a bug and other issues, such as the use of popular apps like Instagram and Uber, is causing the newly released model of the iPhone to heat up.
Instagram released an updated version of its app on September 26 that claims to resolve the overheating.
Users have shared their frustration about using the Instagram app on their iPhone 15 Pro for just a few minutes and finding it became incredibly hot.
Uber and other applications, such as the video game Asphalt 9, are still rolling out their updates.
Another quick fix is to pause the usage of apps if spending time on them increases the smartphone’s temperature.

‘You can charge your iPhone with a USB-C cable and power adapter compliant with the USB-C standard, including USB Power Delivery — such as the cable with your iPhone,’ the Apple spokesperson told DailyMail.com.
‘These cables and power adapters are widely available from Apple and other manufacturers.
Connect the cable to your iPhone’s USB-C connector and a compatible USB-C power adapter. Then, plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
‘If you have a 20W USB-C power adapter or higher-wattage USB-C power adapter — like the one that came with your Mac laptop — you can use it with your iPhone for faster charging.
‘You can also charge your iPhone by connecting it to the USB-C port on your computer.’
Reports of overheating iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have been circulating the web since the smartphones hit the market last month.

Analyst Ming-Chi Ku shared a note last month stating that the overheating stems from the designs of the new smartphones.
Kuo’s blog noted that if the company fails to address the problem, it could affect sales of the device at a time when Apple is already dealing with a sales
He also suggested that a software update could fix the overheating issue but could downgrade the smartphone’s performance.
However, Apple told CNET that the issue is with the overloaded chip.
