APPLE is warning users over fake iPhone camera replacements that have a negative effect on your photos.
Listings online are marketing fake versions of iPhone replacements at a cheaper price, but Apple says they’ll end up doing more harm than good.
“If you need to replace your iPhone camera, it’s important for a trained technician who uses genuine Apple camera parts to repair it,” said the company on its website.
Apple warns that iPhone cameras are tested to meet quality and performance standards in ways that third-party products aren’t.
The company recommends visiting a professional repair provider with certified technicians who use genuine Apple parts as it’s the safest option.
“Repairs performed by untrained individuals using nongenuine parts might affect the safety of the device or might cause improper function or issues with image quality. Apple camera parts are designed to fit precisely within the device,”
These third-party repairs also run the risk of improperly replaced screws that could leave behind loose parts and damage the phone’s battery and cause overheating or even result in injury.
If an iPhone device detects a third-party camera part installed, the camera might not be able to focus properly.
Portrait mode will not have the subject in focus and images won’t be as sharp.

Third-party apps that use the camera might also freeze or quit unexpectedly and previews in those apps might appear blank or get stuck.
If you believe that you might have a non-genuine Apple part that is affecting your phone, you can get your iPhone camera replaced – in our out of warranty – by visiting an Apple Store depending on your location.
You can also visit an Apple Authorized Service Provider or ship your iPhone to an Apple Repair Center.
“Genuine Apple parts are also available for out-of-warranty repairs from Independent Repair Providers or through Self Service Repair.”
