APPLE has quietly upgraded the number of items that can be tracked in its Find My app on an iPhone or iPad.

Customers can now track up to 32 other Apple products via the Find My app, up from the previous total of 16.

Once the items are added to the app, users can track the location of each one

The native location-finding app is one of Apple’s most popular features, as it grants customers the ability to keep track of their products.

It can be a lifesaver when items are lost or stolen.

And thanks to the Apple Airtag, it can be used to track anything from handbags and luggage, to your pet.

The boost was revealed by MacRumours, which stumbled across the upgrade in a newly updated support document.

Items that count towards the limit include:

  • iPhones
  • iPads
  • iPod Touch
  • Macs
  • AirTags
  • AirPods
  • MagSafe Wallets
  • Select Beats headphones
  • Third-party accessories with Find My support

Once the items are added to the app, users can track the location of each one.

Before Apple introduced its Check In feature with iOS 17 late last year, the Find My app was also used to keep track of friends and family for safety purposes.

But Apple fans should be wary that some items count as ‘two’ inside the Apple network.

Some models of AirPods are considered multiple items due to each individual earbud and charging case being counted separately.

In the document, Apple explained: “You can add up to 32 items in Find My.

“In addition to AirTag and the third-party Find My network accessories in the Items tab, AirPods Max count as one item.

“AirPods and AirPods Pro (1st generation) count as two items, and AirPods Pro (2nd generation) count as three items.”

Apple reportedly first increased the item limit in iOS 16, which was released to the public in 2022.

However, the change was not reflected on Apple’s website until now.
