It is being applied in some of the most frequently defiled side streets of Soho, the party hotspot in central London.

Aicha Less, deputy leader of Westminster city council, which spends £900,000 a year clearing up the mess, said: “Residents and businesses are fed up.

“It’s finally pee-back time.”

Anyone taking a leak in the street faces a fine of £150 if council inspectors catch them in the act.

Another five locations are earmarked for the treatment.

Soho councillor Patrick Lilley said: “The anti-pee paint should teach the perpetrators a lesson.
