SHOPPERS have been left devastated by the news an outdoor store which claims to be the UK’s ‘biggest’ is shutting its doors for good.
One man said there will be “no shops left soon” at the rate they seem to be crumbling around him.

The Go Outdoors Express store at Warrington, located in Golden Square Shopping Centre, is permanently closing, according to local media outlet Warrington Guardian.
The retail chain sells everything from camping gear to fishing and skiing equipment and has 93 locations across the UK.
Signage at the front of the Warrington shop – which once claimed to offer “unbeatable deals” on outdoor clothing, footwear, and camping gear – indicates it will not be in operation for much longer.
But until it closes, customers will be able to take advantage of some special deals.

According to local reports, the store is now offering 30 per cent off “absolutely everything”.
One customer wrote on social media: “The sale was amazing to be fair. We got some walking shoes down from 60 to 12. The staff are so nice and were so helpful.”
Another said it was sad that another shop had fallen “victim” to the cost of living crisis.
Someone else wrote: “too many businesses closing down.”

The Sun could not independently confirm that the store is permanently closing.
It comes after Go Outdoors in Old Abingdon Road, Oxford, shut for the final time in December.
Notice of the Oxford store closure was posted on the company website.
Local news outlet the Oxford Mail reported that the store was closing due to the building being in a “state of disrepair”.
Due to this, the company had reportedly been unable to get insurance to “work safely”.
A spokesperson for Go Outdoors said that the company “intends to invest in a new and improved store.”
In 2020, The Sun reported that Go Outdoors was on the brink of collapsing into administration.
JD Sports, which owns Go Outdoors, filed a notice of its intention to appoint administrators, then later pushed it into administration.
But it immediately bought back the business for £56.5 million.
Go Outdoors, was forced to close all its stores in March of that year due to the effects of Covid-19.

The outdoor activities retailer had been struggling long before the pandemic, losing £54.9million in the six months to August 3, 2019.
JD Sports said its decision to buy back Go Outdoors would “preserve as many jobs as possible”, and vowed to push forward with a major restructuring of the business.
