Android owners urged to delete FOUR unwanted apps that are secretly draining their phone battery

ANDROID owners are just realising they can get rid of some of the pre-installed apps that are silently draining their battery life.

These apps, known as ‘bloatware’, are the applications apps that were installed on their device before they bought them.

Bloatware is a much more common problem on Android phones because there are so many more manufacturers making Android devices.

Samsung phones, for example, are known for hosting many default apps that are installed before they even leave the factory.

Most of these apps are helpful, such as the weather and calendar apps.

And some are even critical to a smartphone running normally, meaning if you delete them, the device could malfunction.

But others simply clog up your system and weigh heavily on battery usage.

Android phone owners may recognise bloatware apps on their device, but are worried about unexpected problems that may arise from deleting unnecessary tools.

Fortunately, it’s not easy to uninstall a necessary system app, so you don’t need to fear accidentally ‘breaking’ your phone in this process.

Four apps that can be safely disabled on Android are designed to be used when playing around with Augmented Reality (AR) features.

But AR isn’t for everybody, and therefore, neither are the pre-installed bloatware apps.

These apps include:

1. AR Doodle
2. AR Emoji
3. AR Emoji Stickers
4. AR Emoji Editor

To get rid of bloatware from your Android phone, follow these steps:

• Open Settings and choose Apps and notifications.
• Then click See all apps.
• Select the pre-installed app you want to get rid of, then choose Disable.
  • In most cases, you won’t be able to uninstall bloatware apps.
  • Instead, disabling them will stop the apps from using vital resources, such as your battery.
