Android owners can snap up three free games in the Google app store today – including ‘addictive’ self-defence game

GOOGLE offers Android owners games for free from time-to-time, with varying degrees of ‘playability’.

Here’s a round-up of three games that are ‘on the house’ today, that we think are worth a play.

Word Connect Pro

Word Connect Pro is currently free to download in the Google Play Store.

This lets fans of the word game avoid forking out £2.79 for the ad-free version of the game as well as dodge those pesky adverts.

Players have access to over 2000 levels of unique words puzzles, which can help improve vocabulary and spelling skills during gameplay.

Word Connect Pro has secured a 3.7 out of 5 stars in the Play Store.

Although it has received a few complaints for failing to direct players to the settings to disable adverts in this Pro ad-free version of Word Connect.

Dungeon Defense

Dungeon Defense was originally 79p, but is currently free to install.

Your mission is simple: defeat all invaders to defend your dungeon.

Players can collect more weapons and monsters to make them stronger through the levels.

In one review, a player said the app is “great game overall, the progression is smooth and straightforward, or as complicated as you want it”.

In a separate review, another player called Dungeon Defense “addictive in certain circumstances… Good as a time killer, and easy on the purse, but ultimately average”.

While “average” is not the sparkliest of adjectives, it won’t cost you a penny to download and try for yourself.

Players have awarded Dungeon Defense 4.8 out of 5 stars.

Boom Land

Bored of Angry Birds? Well, it may be time to try Boom Land.

The game was originally 89p, but is currently free to install.

In this game, you play the role of a demolition man, wielding several types of bombs to demolish a variety of buildings.

Your goal is to destroy as much as you can of the building in each round.

In a review, one fan of the game wrote: “Great destruction physics based game, just a shame there aren’t more levels!”

Boom Land has 3.5 out of 5 stars on the Google Play Store.
