AMAZON shoppers have rushed to snap up huge “bargain” boxes of Creme Eggs cheaper than those at Tesco or Asda.

The iconic Cadbury Creme Egg is a favourite for Brits up and down the country.

And shoppers can now pick up 48 of the little chocolatey goodness for less than £22.

The box typically retails for £23.05 but has been slashed to £21.36, for a limited time.

That makes each Creme Egg just 45p, cheaper than at Tesco, Asda and Morrisons

Shoppers can pick up them up for 50p each at Tesco and Asda or for 75p at Morrisons.

This would make each chocolate egg 30p more expensive – adding up to a difference of £14.40.

The bulk box is an incredibly popular choice on Amazon, selling over 10,000 of them in the past month.

And the hit box has racked up an impressive and near-perfect average star-rating of 4.8 out of five from 17,956 reviews.

One shopper wrote: “Got these because they were cheaper than the shops.”

A second dubbed the product more “cost effective” than buying them at supermarkets.

They said: “Cannot go wrong with a box of these. It was great to give to my students around Easter… it was much more cost effective than the shops. I would buy again.”

A third penned: “Having a big family the Easter hunts can be expensive so these done in packs of 2+ in sandwich bags or party bags for different colours made it a fun day, worth the money, will keep this event going.

“Saved loads of money also made the kids happy.”

However, one Amazon customer said: “It’s not much but that’s not the point there should have been 48 but there were 46.

“I was suspicious as the polythene covering the cardboard outer box had clearly become stretched and let’s say two eggs had fallen out somewhere.”

EASTER EGG HUNT

With Easter fast approaching, there isn’t long left to grab a bargain on your favourite chocolate.

Retailers have been battling it out to offer the best deals on the sweet treats since the start of the year.

Tesco has slashed the cost of 22 of its extra large Easter eggs including many Cadbury varieties.

For example, Clubcard customers can snap up a 232g Cadbury Dairy Milk Twirl Easter Egg for £3.50.

But if you’re not signed up for the loyalty scheme, you’ll have to pay a fiver.

A number of Easter Eggs at Asda were reduced to 60p from original prices of £1.25 and £1.50.

Despite Asda axing its deal offering 60p eggs on March 10, it’s still the cheapest place to buy a 96g Freddo Easter egg.

It comes with a small egg and selection of iconic Freddo chocolates inside and is on sale for £1.25.

Asda is selling a 190g KitKat Chunky egg box for £3, the same as Tesco and Ocado.

Meanwhile, Morrisons and Iceland are the next cheapest option, selling it for £3.25 and £3.50 respectively.

Elsewhere, Sainsbury’s has various reductions on Easter eggs for Nectar card shoppers.
