Amazon is back online following a one-hour outage that left thousands unable to checkout.
According to Down Detector, the issues started at around 12:20 GMT and affected customers accross the UK.
MailOnline tried to access the app and found that we were unable to complete at checkout.
Instead, a holding page read: ‘Sorry, we’re experiencing unusually heavy traffic. Please try again in a few seconds.’

We were able browse the platform without trouble, but found that issues occurred when we attempted to complete at checkout.

One user wrote: ‘Has anyone tried to buy through Amazon the last half an hour? I can’t seem to get through checkout. Keeps giving me error message and “we apologise for the inconvenience”.’
Another added: ‘Everytime I try to checkout either on amazon app or amazon fresh….keeps reporting this or an unexpected error. Even when clearing the cart.’
While Amazon is yet to comment on what caused the issue, it has now been resolved.
