Fire TV Sticks only work with a specific type of TV.

A lot of people will find that their TV is already compatible without checking.

The correct TV needs to be HDCP-compatible.

A quick Google search of your device’s model should be able to tell you if it is.

You can also check the box or the instructions manual.

Without this compatibility feature, your Amazon Fire TV Stick won’t work.

This is annoying if you were planning to use your Fire Stick in several locations around the home but not all the devices have the feature.

It’s common for much older TVs to lack the feature but newly purchased devices are usually fine.

HOW TO SET UP AMAZON FIRE TV STICK

Connect the USB cable from the in-box accessories to your power adapter and the Fire Stick.

Next, plug in the Fire Stick to your TV’s HDMI port and plug the power adapter into the wall.

You can now turn on the TV and select find the right HDMI input.

Make sure you do this using your TV’s original remote and not the new Fire Stick one.

Follow the instructions that appear onscreen.

This will include your choice of Wi-Fi network.
