Aldi’s Specialbuys for kids are popular with parents

You can already pre-order from Aldi online with some products available in stores from Thursday (April 22) and then Sunday (April 25).

Previous baby and toddler Specialbuys have proven popular with parents in the past.

In the latest sale you’ll find kids characters like Hey Duggee and Peppa Pig making an appearance, along with baby essentials like muslin cloths

If you’re ordering online, you’ll need to factor in the £2.95 delivery charge if your order is worth less than £20.

Aldi is selling a range of duvet covers for toddlers for under a tenner and there’s a pillow case included too.

There are several designs available featuring kids characters, including Peppa Pig, Hey Dugee, Peter Rabbit and Paw Patrol.

These are available only in stores from April 25 and not online, though as with all Specialbuys stock availability can depend on location.

The closest we found in price to Aldi’s is a Peppa Pig unicorn duvet set at Asda, which is reduced to £10.

Asda does click and collect for free when buying online, or delivery costs from £2.95 but is free on orders over £30.

“Say it with me” animal books – £1.79 each

Aldi’s range of animal books have more than words. There’s a button that plays each creatures’ sound that kids are sure to love.

You can chose from a puppy, kitten or monkey edition, and there are also sing-along books for the same interactive element and price.

This is another in-store only item and isn’t available to buy online. Don’t forget that stock can vary from store to store.

We found a similar book on sale at World of Books, but is more expensive £3.19.

Suitable for kids aged over one, this wooden Winnie the Pooh toy is one wheels an can be pulled along.

You’ll also find a second toy of everyone’s favourite bear which is similar but with a push along mechanism, rather than pulley.

This toy is only available to buy online, and with the cost of delivery it means you’ll pay £2.95 on top unless you’re spending £20 in total and then delivery is free.

We found this on sale online from several shops and the cheapest we found elsewhere is £9.00 from a shop called Wood and Wonder, with delivery costing £2.95.

How to compare prices to get the best deal

JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

Here are some that we recommend:

  • Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
  • Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
  • Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
  • CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.

Aldi has a selection of cute backpacks that also double up as reins to keep your tot near by.

As well as the dinosaur, you’ll find a giraffe, tiger and ladybird design, and all are available online now to pre-order and in stores from April 25.

We found a huge range of animal backpacks with reins from a number of retailers, but none were under £10 making the these Aldi ones the cheapest.

Baby table seat – £29.99 (buy now)

For baby’s Aldi has this table seat which handily clips onto tables – much easier to carry around than a high chair.

This is an online-only item available now for pre-order, and won’t hit the famous middle aisle in Aldi stores.

We did find a similar priced clip on baby table seat: this GYMAX brand one on sale at Amazon for £29.95 and with good reviews.

Baby food muff – £12.99 (buy now)

You can keep baby feet toasty with this foot warmer which we’ve spotted for sale at Aldi before.

It’s back again and has top reviews with five out of five stars – one parent said it was so good they bought a second one.

You can pre-order this online now or get it on store from April 25, though stock will depend on your local branch.

This is among the cheapest foot muffs we found. The next closest in price is this fleece cosy from Argos for £13.
