Aldi has recalled cheese and onion slices because of undeclared allergens

The affected products are made by Crestwood, and the batch number to look out for is 707602.

The packs being recalled weight 300g and have a best before date of August 16, 2021.

If you have a mustard or barley allergy then you shouldn’t eat the slices.

Barley contains gluten, so the product shouldn’t be eaten by anyone who has coeliac disease or who is intolerant to the allergen.

Aldi is recalling the product from customers and been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which should also tell their members about the recall.

You can return the products to your nearest store for a full refund. If you’ve got your receipt, take it along, but you should be able to get your money back without one.

Aldi said that it apologised for the inconvenience and thanked customers for their co-operation.

That’s not the only recall that customers need to be aware of this week.

Yesterday, Mars recalled its M&M’s Crispy chocolates due to the use of a UK banned substance.

Mars said that there was a genetically modified organism (GMO) in an ingredient produced by a supplier.

The ingredient hasn’t been authorised for GMO under UK law, meaning the treats had to be recalled.

Mars added that it doesn’t use GMOs in any of their products in Europe.

On Thursday, Highland Spring urgently recalled bottles of sparkling water over fears they could explode.

The sparkling water is packaged in 750ml glass bottles that have now been deemed unsafe for shoppers to buy.
