MERRY Junemas! Yes, it’s really a thing.

With many December festivities unable to go ahead with family as planned, Aldi is declaring this month Junemas and bringing a taste of Christmas to summer.

I love this idea and think we could all do with another reason to celebrate.

Here’s how to celebrate a less costly Christmas this week.

PIES THE LIMIT: As part of its Junemas offering, all Aldi stores will stock mince pies from today.

Get a 12-pack of mini mince pies for just £1.79 — a bargain price, especially considering you won’t generally find any on supermarket shelves at this time of year.

TREE-RIFIC: Brits looking to spend time with their family this summer are being encouraged to celebrate “Junemas” with a luxury Christmas tree.

GardeningExpress.co.uk has already kicked off the celebrations with a pre-sale of discounted, full-size Nordmann fir trees this month — but if you missed out they still have cute and easy-to-display mini Christmas trees for just £3.99, down from £8.99.

DISNEY MAGIC: You can snap up Disney’s new Christmas baubles on its shopdisney.co.uk website.

There are perfect ornaments for a baby’s first Christmas (or Junemas!) as well as collectible favourite characters including Grumpy from Snow White and Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

Prices start at £7.99 and if you shop via Topcashback.co.uk, you can get up to six per cent back.

I’ve also seen packs of last year’s Primark baubles up for grabs on eBay for £7.99, down from £11.

LITTLE PIGGIES: What would Junemas be without a few pigs in blankets?

They’re certainly welcome all year, if you ask me.

You can nab Summer Edition Pigs in Beach Towels jumbo pork sausages wrapped in bacon from Sainsbury’s for £4.50 — which would be great for a barbecue with a festive feel.

To save cash you can also pick up smaller, traditional pigs in blankets for £3.

Aldi also has a pack of four Giant Pigs in Blanket Kebabs for a bargain £2.49, which are sure to be crowd pleasers.

  • Prices correct at time of going to press. Deals and offers subject to availability.

ALDI has launched an all-new picnic range just in time for summer and the collection includes a nifty wine holder table.
