One of Britain’s biggest supermarket chains has revealed it will close all 890 stores this Easter Sunday, 9 April.

Aldi says it will shut all stores on Easter Sunday, whilst revealing its opening hours for the rest of the Easter weekend.

The popular low-cost supermarket said branches would be open on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday.

This follows a similar move made by the company in 2022, when they shut all stores on Easter Sunday, but remained open throughout the rest of the weekend.

Its stores will be open between 8am and 10pm on Good Friday, 8am to 10pm on Easter Saturday and 8am to 8pm on Easter Monday.

These are not guaranteed opening hours and will vary depending on the shop, with customers advised to check the store locator on the Aldi website.

Other major supermarkets have not yet revealed their opening hours during the Easter weekend.

The Sainsbury’s website indicates that opening hours will vary based on store location.

Last year, Co-op closed larger outlets on Easter Sunday, while smaller stores were operating normal opening hours.

Tesco closed its larger branches on Easter Sunday and reopened them on Easter Monday, although opening hours varied from store to store.
