Hollywood may have had a rocky year, but the 93rd Academy Awards are happening anyway. Director Steven Soderbergh is one of the producers tasked with revamping the ceremony, which he says will be shot more like a movie than a typical live TV show. What does that mean? We’ll have to see. In the meantime, here is everything you need to know from how many films were eligible (the most in three decades!) to the murky issue of how many people have actually seen the nominated films.

The ceremony takes place Sunday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
