Jordon is no stranger to a bargain, he told The Sun about his ‘best ever’ from Black Friday

He said: “My best bargain that I got on Black Friday was flights to Sweden for £2 each way.

“This was a Ryanair Black Friday sale, and you could get seats for £2 – so I picked up a £4 return trip for my mother and I.”

The flights should’ve cost £30 – so he saved £26 in total.

Jordon is no stranger to bargains of course, as he founded the CouponKid blog almost 10 years ago.

The money saver says the flights were one of his best-ever bargains on Black Friday, he spoke to The Sun to share his top tips for this year.

This year Black Friday falls on November 26.

It’s typically a day where retailers will launch their biggest and best sales of the year just as shoppers are looking to stock up for Christmas.

This year though, many have leaped out the gate early as Amazon began its Black Friday deals 20 days prior to the “holiday”, meanwhile Currys and Boots, plus many more, are also already rolling out discounts.

Often shoppers will rush to buy the latest gadgets and products from the shelves on the day, but forget that experiences, travel and other less tangible purchases could be on offer too.

Things like flights or even train tickets can sometimes be the best bargains, Jordon explained.

All sorts of companies are looking to cash in on the mega day of discounts so it’s worth checking to see if your favourites are hosting any sales, on the off chance you can make a saving.

You shouldn’t, of course, buy something just because it’s on sale, but Black Friday can be a good opportunity to purchase some more mundane products that you hadn’t thought about being reduced on the day.

Jordon: How I bag the best bargains on Black Friday

Jordon revealed that it’s important shoppers wise up ahead of the sales this year.

Getting prepared in advance is a good way to save the most money he explained.

“My best tip would be to look at pricing history before spending on Black Friday,” Jordon said.

“Before buying anything, it’s worth checking if this is the cheapest price it has ever been.”

Which? has recently revealed that a number of deals from last year were cheaper before Black Friday – so the hyped-up day of savings did little to help the wallets of shoppers who waited.

Jordon agreed that it’s worth doing your research, as you don’t want to be fooled by dud discount tags.

He said: “There are a lot of ‘deals’ which claim to be discounted that actually aren’t.

“My advice is to use websites such as CamelCamelCamel and Idealo to check price graphs and see whether the price has been slashed and it is a good time to buy or not.”

There are plenty of opportunities to bag something at a great price on Black Friday.

But sometimes it pays to wait too – Cyber Monday is only on the other side of the weekend and can often host great deals just days later.

Most importantly though, you should always shop around to find the best place to buy something from.

Most retailers will be running sales on the day, but one who sends a coupon to your email may be more expensive than another you can find after a quick google, so it’s always worth double checking.

You can also use stock checker tools to alert you when something is available and then compare it to other prices that are advertised at the time.
