ONE of the biggest gold nuggets ever discovered is due to fetch at least £750,000 at auction.
The 20lb lump — about the size of a child’s head — was unearthed by gold miner Barry Clay in Alaska, US, in 1998.

He found the remnant of the 19th-century Klondike Gold Rush while pushing dirt with his bulldozer near a creek.
It is the second largest nugget ever found in the western hemisphere — beaten only by the 24lb Boot of Cortez, found in Mexico in 1989.
The seller, who acquired it from Mr Clay more than 20 years ago, will auction it in Dallas.
The gold rush from 1896 to 1899 saw more than 100,000 people trek to the Yukon near Alaska.
The December 8 sale also features two gold crystals from Venezuela, tipped to fetch £225,000 and £450,000.
