Video-sharing platform TikTok has experienced a significant outage on Friday, with thousands of users across the U.S. complaining they can’t access the social network.
According to DownDetector, which keeps track of online outages, over 14,000 outages have been reported since 9 a.m.
Most of the outages seem to be occurring in Chicago and New York, according to a map of outages.

DailyMail.com has reached out to TikTok with a request for comment.
Many users took to Twitter to express their frustration that the service has stopped working.
‘Well grab your cocktails and let’s wait for tiktok to come back up people,’ one user wrote.
‘When tik tok stops working. Hello! Twitter,’ another person tweeted.
‘Me after realizing Tiktok went down,’ another person wrote, adding a gif of a door with the the Twitter logo.
Globally, TikTok is one of the most popular apps, having reported reaching over 1 billion monthly users this past September.
It’s estimated to have more than 80 million in the U.S. and is regularly the most downloaded app in the App Store and Google Play.
