Law enforcement in the U.S. and Europe announced a series of actions aimed at a Russia-linked criminal group behind ransomware attacks that crippled critical infrastructure and businesses, aiming to strike a blow at a scourge the Biden administration has identified as a prime national-security threat.

In Washington, the Justice Department announced the recent arrest in Poland of a Ukrainian national behind the REvil ransomware attack on Kaseya Ltd., a technology provider, and the indictment of another individual.
