Apple Inc. on Thursday reported record year-end results, including a 12-month profit nearing $100 billion, but faced greater-than-expected supply-chain disruptions that hindered iPhone manufacturing, causing sales to fall behind Wall Street expectations.

The company cautioned that the current quarter will bring increased challenges.
