One of the toughest tasks ahead of the holiday season this year is buying a PlayStation 5 for your children. While Sony should be happy about strong demand, the chip shortage also means it won’t be able to sell as many as it would like.

This could hit revenue in the short term, but the Japanese conglomerate’s long-term strategy to remake itself as a diversified entertainment giant remains intact.
