AMAZON has just introduced a new perk for Prime subscribers – a year’s worth of Deliveroo Plus completely free for a year.

That means a Deliveroo order of £25 or more will be delivered to your door completely free of charge.

There are already plenty of perks available in Amazon’s monthly membership services, included free and extra-fast deliveries and access to thousands of TV shows and films on Prime Video.

But this new benefit should make all takeaway lovers out there very happy, with the standard £3.49-per-month charge for the silver tier of Deliveroo Plus wavered.

That’s a saving of over £40 a year.

This new deal with Deliveroo shouldn’t come as a huge surprise – back in 2019, Amazon bought a 16% stake in the food delivery company.

Both businesses have seen a huge uptake last year after the Covid pandemic saw millions of people across the UK stuck in their homes, and ordering goods and meals online.

Amazon Prime costs £7.99 a month, although the retail giant offers a free 30-day trial period to entice new subscribers.

Anybody about to head to uni should definitely also check out the Amazon Prime Student UK scheme, which is even cheaper and has a longer trial period.

Here’s our pick of the 100 best films on Amazon Prime to watch right now.

If you want to say goodbye to the subscription service, here’s how to cancel Amazon Prime.
