A SHOPPER has revealed how she uses the B&M app to find bargains at lower prices, even landing incredible buys that cost just 10p.
Coupon queen Holly Smith who posts money-saving videos on the YouTube channel Holly Vlogs, has shared her tips for getting discounts using the B&M barcode scanning app.
The B&M app is known for allowing savvy shoppers to nab huge discounts on items that actually cost much less than they’re labelled on the shelves.
It involves using a barcode scanner to check the real price of products in store.
Discount guru Holly, 45, from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, is a huge fan of the B&M app and reveals how to use it while you’re shopping.
In a video posted online to her more than 100k subscribers, Holly is seen on the hunt for a bargain as she browses the aisles.
She finds a Thorntons milk elf scanning at 39p instead of 69p, as well as a Scuba Splash slime toy reduced from £3.99 to £3.
There’s also a pack of bow socks down from £3.99 to £2, and a Beauty and the Beast bath set reduced from £3.99 to £2.
And other shoppers have also shared their best finds on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group.
One revealed they managed to get three sets of bedding reduced to just 10p, including a King Size duvet cover set with a price tag of £29.99.
B&M fans have also landed 10p items ranging from solar lights and plant pots and even a Hoover steam mop.
Holly explains your best chance of finding products at lower prices is to check seasonal items.
So if you’re shopping now, you’ll want to check products that were released over the summer period, like garden items.
Another shopper on the Facebook group recently shared that they bagged a £45 BBQ for 10p at the checkout.
Shoppers recently spotted huge B&M garden furniture discounts including £5 gazebo and £10 fire pit.
Holly previously told The Sun it’s worth going to your local B&M and looking around.
And she told The Mirror that using the app has saved her thousands of pounds over the years.
It’s worth looking out for the bargain buys after each of the major seasons pass.
So once Halloween has gone there’s likely to be big savings on any leftover spooky stock.
And your most likely to find the cheapest Christmas items after the festive season has already passed.
End of seasons are usually when shops do big discounts to clear stock.
B&M says the discounts you’ll find with the barcode app will vary between stores, so what you’ll find is by no means guaranteed.
How to use the B&M barcode scanning app
Savvy shoppers are using an app to find better discounts in stores.
Here’s how you can join the B&M bargain hunt:
- Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
- Once you’ve installed it on your device, click on the option labelled “more” on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page.
- You’ll then find an option that says “barcode scanner”. Click on this and you’ll open a camera screen.
- Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check.
- If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price.
- You don’t need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.
