BuzzFeed Inc. reported quarterly earnings Thursday for the first time since announcing plans to go public, telling investors that its advertising revenue rose sharply as the economy emerged from the Covid-19 pandemic.

BuzzFeed reported $89.1 million in total revenue for the second quarter, an increase of about 51% compared with the year-earlier period. The company attributed some of the growth to its e-commerce business, which generates revenue by recommending and selling products online.
