MICROSOFT has just revealed its highly anticipated Windows 11 software at its What’s Next for Windows online event.

The announcement comes six years after the launch of Windows 10, which is used by around 1.3billion people around the world.

Windows 11 will be available on new PCs and eligible Windows 10 PCs will be able to upgrade for free later this year.

The new design is almost macOS like and comes with a Smart Menu.

It also has a new Start button and a Taskbar that’s in the centre of the screen.

One big key feature is that Microsoft will be working with the Amazon app store to bring Android apps to the platform.

It also promises to provide the best PC gaming experience.

Windows 11 will enable access to the Xbox app so eligible users can play all the games Xbox Game Pass has to offer.

Apart from a few cool updates, Microsoft was keen to stress that Windows 11 won’t feel too different to Windows 10.

Its website states: “Upgrading to Windows 11 will be like taking a Windows 10 update.

“The familiar management experiences you have in place today – like Microsoft Endpoint Manager, cloud configuration, Windows Update for Business and Autopilot – will support your environment of tomorrow as you integrate Windows 11 into your estate.”

Fans of Microsoft Teams will be pleased as Windows 11 will integrate Teams into the Taskbar.

This could allow users to instantly connect through text, chat, voice or video with anyone, anywhere across Windows, Android and iOS.
