PC Benjamin Monk says former footballer was ‘very scary’ and told him he would ‘take him to the gates of hell’ during incident in 2016

The police officer charged with murdering Dalian Atkinson said coming face to face with the former footballer in a late-night clash left him so terrified he ran away and feared he was going to die.

PC Benjamin Monk denies the murder or manslaughter of Atkinson after being called to a disturbance outside the home of Atkinson’s father on 15 August 2016.
