BT boss Philip Jansen saw his pay fall from £3.2million to £2.6million last year as coronavirus hit the telecoms giant.

Jansen’s pay included his £1.1million salary, £98,000 in benefits including a chauffeur-driven car, a £1.3million annual bonus and £110,000 in pension contributions.

But he chose to donate six months’ worth of his salary – about £650,000 – to charity because of the pandemic.

He took over at BT in February 2019 and agreed to have his salary fixed for a period of five years.
