A PUB is up for grabs for the price of two pints of lager and a packet of crisps.
Owners William and Judith Brown are selling the award-winning Raglan Arms in the Welsh countryside to “give someone the chance to get involved in their dream industry”.
The traditional pub was named as one of the top 20 in Wales – and it comes with four bedrooms.
The couple have run the inn for more than six years – and now they’re ready to pass the baton to a keen buyer.
“We know how hard it is to get that deposit together, especially in this industry and particularly so at this time,” Judith said.
“We are therefore entering the Raglan Arms as a prize to give someone that chance to own their own restaurant with no start-up debts.
“The prize includes the business property, all fixture and fittings, including stock, and a spacious four-bedroom accommodation over the business.”
William added: “We want it to go to someone who will treasure it, and run it like a dream.”
The pub and restaurant in Llandenny, Monmouthshire, is being sold in a raffle, with tickets costing just £10 – the cost of just two pints and a packet of crisps.
The restaurant has an AA rosette and it was recently listed as one of the top gastropubs in Wales.
“The Raglan Arms has recently been awarded the 2021 AA Rosette award for culinary excellence,” the pub’s website says.
“Many thanks to our wonderful chef Peter, and all the members of his brigade together with our valued service staff.”
The property has a 32-seat restaurant and a conservatory dining area with 18 seats.
There’s also a lounge bar, a large outdoor desk area and a car park with spaces for 30 cars.
The competition will run for two months, until July 8 – and the total number of paid entries for the competition will be 95,000.
