Keir Starmer calls on PM to launch full inquiry and says ‘sleaze is now at heart of this Tory government’

Boris Johnson has refused to rule out the possibility that more government officials may have had links to Greensill Capital, as Keir Starmer used prime minister’s questions to call for a full inquiry into what he called “the sleaze that’s now at the heart of this Conservative government”.

Ahead of a Labour opposition day debate calling for a wider review of lobbying and cronyism after revelations that David Cameron texted and called ministers to seek emergency government help for the now-collapsed finance company, Johnson said he could not remember when he last spoke to “Dave”.
