Apple III Trust has bought 818,000 shares in Ocado for £16m

A trust linked to a member of the Ocado board has bought £16million of shares in the company.

Apple III Trust – of which the online supermarket’s non-executive director Jorn Rausing is a beneficiary – bought 818,000 shares at 1988.6p. 

The trust already owned 69m Ocado shares worth £1.4billion. Rausing, 61, is the grandson of Tetra Pak founder Ruben and is worth an estimated £6.5billion.

He has been a director at Ocado since 2003 when he first invested. Tetra Pak is one of the world’s leading packaging companies and was founded in the Rausings’s homeland of Sweden in 1943.
