SCAMMERS STRIKE AGAIN
Gamers are still being conned out of hundreds of pounds by Twitter fraudsters taking advantage.
Ghrim Williams, from Pennsylvania, US, was contacted by a scammer after he tweeted about his struggle to get his hands on a PS5.
The fraudster asked for $400 (GBP £290) – a fraction of the retail price.
“I was of course incredulous at this point because it is a $500+ console, and he said he was shipping out to the Navy and ‘didn’t want it collecting dust’,” Mr Williams, 31, told the Mirror.
However, after he transferred the money he was blocked by the scammer – who made off with his hard-earned money.
