The limited edition snack – which is actually called the Zinger Tower Double – looks more like a Double Down burger, which has been seen on UK menus a handful of times before for a limited run.

It’s made with a slice of cheese and tangy tomato sauce squashed between two Zinger fillets.

But this latest edition also features a hashbrown in the in the middle and it’s making us drool just thinking about it.

Unfortunately, there’s no indication that the creation will be making its way here any time soon, particularly when KFC is running a limited menu due to the coronavirus lockdown.

How to save money on your takeaway

TAKEAWAYS taste great but they can hit you hard on your wallet. Here are some tips on how to save on your delivery:

Cashback websites– TopCashback and Quidco will pay you to order your takeaway through them. They’re paid by retailers for every click that comes to their website from the cashback site, which eventually trickles down to you. So you’ll get cashback on orders placed through them.

Discount codes – Check sites like VoucherCodes for any discount codes you can use to get money off your order.

Buy it from the shops – Okay, it might not taste exactly the same but you’ll save the most money by picking up your favourite dish from your local supermarket.

Student discounts – If you’re in full-time education or a member of the National Students Union then you may be able to get a discount of up to 15 per cent off the bill. It’s always worth asking before you place your order.

But diners can order specific items off the menu to recreate it yourself.

The best way to do it is by ordering the Zinger Stacker Burger meal, which will give you two fiery zinger fillets and two slices of cheese.

The sweet chilli and supercharger sauces will have to replace the tangy tomato sauce of the Double Down.

While a side of hashbrowns are temporarily off the menu at the moment, they are still being sold as part of the Zinger Tower Burgers.

It means they snacks are in the KFC kitchens so it’s up to the discretion of staff whether they add one to your meal.

You can’t order them on the app but you may be able to ask for one in the comments section when you place your order, or ask a member of staff when you order at the counter for a takeaway.

Alternatively, you can recreate the fried potato flavours by swapping the hashbrown for your chips.

You’ll also need to ditch the buns as the chicken fillets will be what holds the burger together.

And voilà! There you have a hash brown Double Down burger in the UK.

Of course, there’s the price to consider. The Zinger Tower Double costs $7.95 – £4.47 – you’ll need to fork out extra for the UK recreation.

Zinger Stacker Burgers costs around £5.49, according to Burgerlad.com, or £6.89 for a medium meal with chips, reports fastfoodprice.co.uk.

Plus, you may be charged extra for the hashbrown.

All KFC branches in the UK are currently closed for dine ins under the Government’s lockdown restrictions.

But restaurants are open for takeaway and delivery through Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo.

You can also click and collect through the KFC app and use the drive-thru lanes in some of its restaurants.

Customers are able to order in stores as normal to take away. You can find your nearest KFC using the location tool.

Most fast food chains in the UK are currently running limited menus during the lockdown so it’s time to get creative with your orders.
