Met Office records coldest UK temperature for 65 years in Braemar, Aberdeenshire, at -23C

More snow is expected in parts of the UK this weekend after a record-breaking week of cold weather, according to the Met Office.

The UK recorded its coldest temperature for 65 years in Braemar in Aberdeenshire on Wednesday night, when the mercury dropped to -23C. In Scotland, and parts of Wales, Northern Ireland, and northern England, yellow weather warnings are in place for snow and ice on Saturday and Sunday.
