What is Call of Duty Firebase Z?

One of Call of Duty Cold War’s most popular modes is Zombies.

It’s part of the full game (and not free like Warzone), so you’ll need to own Cold War to enjoy it.

Until now, players have been fending off the horde in Die Maschine.

But with the new Firebase Z map, players will be heading to the jungles of Vietnam.

“Following the events of ‘Die Maschine’, Requiem’s next mission brings them deep into the jungles of Vietnam,” Activision explained.

“Under the direction of Grigori Weaver, the team must uncover the secrets of Outpost 25 and face the threat that ‘lives’ within to save Samantha Maxis.”

So far, we’ve seen the destruction of the WW2-era Projekt Endstation in Poland.

Now Grigori and his agents are racing to rescue Samantha Maxis, and exile from Outpost 25…before all hell (literally) breaks loose.

When is Call of Duty Firebase Z out? Release date revealed

The introduction of Firebase Z is the next chapter in the Dark Aether story.

It’s a free upgrade for anyone with the main Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War game.

You’ll be able to download it on February 4.

In other news, The Sun’s favourite alternative to a games console is the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset.

Grab a VR headset and you’ll be able to play the legendary Beat Saber – like Guitar Hero, but with lightsabers.

And Dell’s Alienware R10 Ryzen Edition is a gaming PC powerhouse that crushes both the new consoles.
