This includes the closure of schools and non-essential shops.

But that doesn’t mean the end of your caffeine hit.

Hospitality venues such as cafes, including Starbucks, must close to dine-in customers – but they can still operate click-and-collect, drive-through and delivery services.

So while you won’t be able to sit inside and sip on your coffee, you can still order and take your drink away.

Is Starbucks open?

Starbucks closed during the first lockdown in March 2020 but stayed open for takeaway and deliveries in the second round during November.

It is following the same rules for the third lockdown.

Starbucks outlets are open but you can only order a takeaway.

Opening times may vary with some opening as early as 6.30am and closing at 10pm.

Starbucks has almost 1,000 stores in the UK – you can find your nearest Starbucks by using its online tool.

How to order from Starbucks

Visit your local store

You can visit your local Starbucks and order when you arrive – but you’ll need to take your drink away.

Alternatively, you can skip the socially-distanced queues by ordering ahead through the Starbucks app.

The app is free to download on your Apple or Android smartphone. Once you’ve downloaded it, you’ll need to setup log in to your account – this is also free to do.

Users can even earn rewards such as free drinks and access exclusive offers by purchasing through the app.

Drive-thru

Or if you drive, you can get your Starbucks hit from the comfort of your car.

This is because Starbucks drive-thrus are still open across the country.

The store locator tool should tell you if your nearest shop has a drive-thru.

Delivery

If you don’t fancy leaving the house, Uber Eats users can get Starbucks delivered.

Order through the UberEats website or download the app.

You will need to signup to Uber Eats and once registered you can enter your delivery address and choose when you want your items delivered.

But keep in mind you’ll pay a delivery fee on top of your order – this can be as much as £2.50 extra, which is around the price of a small coffee.

If you’re unsure about which shops can still stay open during the third lockdown, we’ve rounded up a list of essential retailers.

And here are the shops that must close.

But don’t worry, Greggs lovers can still get their pasties.
