The 26th of February, 2026, makes it 4 years since Pst. (Dr.) Emmanuel Sunny Ojeagbase slept in the lord.
To celebrate his life, I decided to analyze one of his biggest secrets for success.

‘Remember Kids, There’s heroes, and there are legends. Heroes are remembered, but Legends never die.’
Even when a person dies,
Their impact and legacy continue to live on in the hearts of people as if they never left.
Few people fit this description like my Dad, Pst. (Dr.) Emmanuel Sunny Ojeagbase.
The 26th of February, 2025, made it 3 years since he slept in the Lord.
I still find it hard to believe it has been 3 years.
Every once in a while,
My mind flashes back to the conversations we had because it is the memory you are left with after the person is gone.
Conversations with him were invaluable because of his wealth of experience.
During one of these conversations,
He asked me a question,
Thinking back to that particular day in December 2021,
The answer to this question is the reason why he was able to build extremely successful businesses with loyal followers that still hold him in high esteem.
The answer to this question is the reason why a young boy Orphaned at 16 years old with no godfather was able to rise to the top of his field.
The answer to this question is the reason why, when his death was announced; His life and impact on society were celebrated by everyone from the President of Nigeria to the man on the street.

My Dad and I were talking about a project that was scheduled to kick off in January, 2022.
In the course of the conversation,
He asked,
‘What do you think is more important to focus on, The Customer or the Money in their pocket?’
The obvious answer is the Customer.
The most successful businesses are customer focused businesses.
They care about their customer and it shows in how they operate.
Dad cared deeply for people, and it showed in everything He did.
During my Dad’s time as a Sports Journalist for the Sunday Concord,
His focus was writing engaging Sports stories for his audience, which pushed him to revolutionize Sports reporting in Nigeria and built a loyal following of raving fans, as shown by this memo from the Great Dele Giwa.
When he setup Complete Communications Limited with his wife, Pst. (Mrs.) Esther Ojeagbase in 1984,
His unwavering focus on serving the needs of the customer propelled Complete Sports to become Nigeria’s #1 Sports Daily newspaper and a household name.
People got addicted to Complete Sports because he cared about making it valuable to the reader.
