Nothing Else Matters – According to a research conducted by the Institute of Aging, One of the top five regrets of people in the Twilight years of their lives is not spending enough time with their loved ones.
This regret comes from the pain of neglect and loneliness older people tend to experience because they do not have a solid relationship with their children.
This should not be the case as Proverbs 17:6 states, Children’s Children are the crown of Old men.

It is easy to get caught up in the daily hassle of work and other Life issues while ignoring our loved ones.
Yes, it is important we provide for our families which requires us to focus our attention on work but it is important we find a middle ground.
The seeds of a healthy and fulfilling relationship between parents and children are sown long before old age.
Parenthood is a privilege given by God and we require his wisdom to successfully shoulder this responsibility.
As a parent, you are responsible for providing for your child.
This responsibility not only covers financial care but also emotional, physical, mental, social and most importantly Spiritual care.
Parents are to guide their children’s spiritual growth and help them build a personal relationship with God.
It is important you instill a sense of discipline in your child and help them to know the difference between right and wrong.
Emotionally, parents need to show genuine love and care to their children as this will help the development of positive self-esteem.
Physically, if left to their own device, children will prefer to eat junk food which is not good for their health and development.
Parents need to ensure their children get the best nutrition for their development.
Mentally, It is important you do not take your Children’s education for granted.
If you want your children to become respectable members of society, the quality of education you give them access to in their early years will place a significant role.
You should also encourage your children to build healthy friendships.
Taking care of the needs of your children will ensure they grow into adults you will be proud of.
It is also important you lead by example.
Children look at what their parents do and not what their parent say.
They will pay attention to how you talk to them.
They will pay attention to how you treat them.
And this will shape how they relate with you.
As the Bible says, “What a man sows that exactly he shall reap.”
If you do not raise your children with love and care, you will have to live with the pain of regret in old age.
Remember, the Government, Communities, Associates or Friends, Church or Mosque can neglect or forget your contributions to their cause.
A well-brought up children will never forget or abandon you in your time of need.
At the end of the day, you will realize that nothing else matters.
