“Then the king said to Araunah, No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will l offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing.’ So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.” 2 Samuel 24:24 (NKJV)
It’s true,
There is kingdom prosperity,
It’s an enduring superabundance that only GOD can bless anyone with. And the only way anyone can access it is by obeying the Word of GOD.
The good thing about this type of prosperity is that you don’t have to attend the best business school in the world to qualify for it. A peasant farmer, almost dying of hunger, can be blessed by GOD with the type of kingdom prosperity l is talking about.
Like this woman in 1 Kings 17:8-16:
8 Then the word of the Lord came to him (prophet Elijah), saying,
9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a
widow there to provide for you.”
10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.”
11 And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”
12 So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die”.
13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake
from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son.
14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar
of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth’.”
15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ale for many days.
16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.
Incredible story, isn’t it? This Zarephath woman was prepared to die with her little son after eating the only food they had left in the house. Famine was ravaging the land. And there was no hope to continue living. Death was imminent. Once they ate the food they wanted to prepare, they were just going to lie down and die. (Isn’t that the foreboding prospect for many families in Nigeria today?).
At that precise time, my Father of whom 2 Chronicles 16:9 says: For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him;” saw this woman who was preparing to commit suicide and take her young son along with her. And He sent His servant, Elijah, along to her on a rescue mission.
“Arise,” the Lord said to the servant of GOD (1 Kings 17:9 NKJV), 90 to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you. But see what happens next. Elijah arrived on the scene and told the woman: “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.” Water,” the woman must have thought to herself, that’s a Small thing.” And she turned away to go and get the prophet water. But as she was going, Elijah added: “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.
Thank GOD this encounter was not between this prophet and a Nigerian woman during these hard times. She would have turned round after thinking within herself, “I thought this man of GOD would’ve just respected himself. When my son and I were preparing to eat our last meal and die, he asked me to give him some out of what is not even enough. And he even has the audacity to tell me that I should make his own first.
The woman did not verbalize the aggravation that Elijah’s request must have caused her. Instead, she said: “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
If prophet Elijah had pity on the woman and her Son, he didn’t reveal it from what he said next: Do not fear: go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward, make some for yourself and your son. For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the earth’.”
Guess what the woman did next? She simply turned around in obedience to act on Elijah’s request. And for that Simple act of obedience (aka FAITH-for, James 2:24 tells us. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. That is, if you believe the Word of GOD, you will act promptly on what He asks you to do in FAITH like Father Abraham always did!) She did not have to die after eating her last meal but was supernaturally provided for a long time after that.
Now, let me excite you. Did the bin of flour run out or did the jar of oil run dry? No! The Bible says: “The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.”
That is my Father creating supernatural abundance for this Woman from almost nothing. All because she believed the Word of GOD that the prophet spoke to her! And that is the way my Father always intervenes in our lives if we trust Him. That is what I call Kingdom Prosperity. And I am absolutely convinced that anyone who believes in the Word of GOD after reading this message will swim in prosperity as this woman who was transformed from not enough to more than enough. How do you position yourself to be a recipient of this Kingdom’s Prosperity?
You must be prepared to do exactly what this woman did, not just once, but all the time. The situation in Nigeria now is the best time to start. When next somebody asks you for help, don’t think of the fact that you barely have enough to feed yourself and your family.
Reach into your storehouse and give the person out of the little you have left. And just as it happened to this woman we have just read about in the Scriptures, I am confident in GOD that He will not overlook that act of kindness.
He Himself gave us that assurance in Proverbs 19:17. He who has pity on the poor, He says, “Tends to the Lord. And He will pay back what he has given. And He gave us a double assurance in Psalm 89:34: “My covenant will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. And, as Apostle Peter confirmed in Acts 10:34 (KJV), GOD is not a respecter of persons. Whatever He has done for one He can do for another. It doesn’t cost Him anything.
But don’t do what our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, chided the hypocrites of His day about in Matthew 6:14, He admonished us
1 Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward from your Father in heaven
2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
4 that your charitable deed may be in secret and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly
In other words, don’t do what some people are still doing today. They give you money, supposedly to help you, and they go and brag about it or they want to dehumanize you because they have helped you. They get on the “soap box” as Jesus described and say, loudly to the hearing of any who cares to listen to them, You see that man (or woman) and his or her children just walking by without greeting me.
Can you imagine? 111 didn’t give them a cup of garri last night (or, maybe it was N5 -the real mean giver doesn’t even give anything substantial in comparison to what GOD, whose money He is redistributing, has given him); they would’ve died of hunger before daybreak today.
Listen, if you are like that, change your attitude. GOD blesses you so that you can be a blessing to others.. God is a great provider of all that we will ever need here
Trust GOD to always fulfill His Word. Take advantage of times like this to get GOD’s attention or financial blessing. And once you give obediently, don’t get on your knees immediately after and start praying some hot prayers to GOD.
You see that I had only N10 left in my pocket when I gave that woman half of it. It is because your Word asked me to do it. Don’t forget to keep your promise Brother Emmanuel-Sunny has assured me that you will not forget.
And don’t disappoint me too.
My eyes are on you o!’ And then you will lace it here and there with speaking in tongues. Please don’t pray that sort of prayer. Listen to what Jesus said instead. Now Our Master said in Matthew 6:30 If God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
And l add; will He not feed you?
I know He will! He always does. But remember you have to seek the kingdom of GOD first, and GOD’s righteousness and He will add every other thing to you. Matthew 6:33.
Also, don’t do like GOD’s people that we read about in Malachi 1:8 who showed their disdain for GOD by not touching their healthiest animals to sacrifice to their GOD who gave them bountiful harvest but, instead, reached for the sick animals in their flock to worship Him. God reprimanded them sternly for doing so.
And when you offer the blind as a sacrifice, is it not evil? He chastises them. “And when you offer the lame and sick, Is it not evil? Offer it then to your governor! Would he be pleased with you?
Would he accept you favourably says the Lord of hosts. Instead, follow the example of King David, a man GO0 says is after His own heart.
Then the king (David) said to Araunah, ‘No, but will surely buy it from you for a price, nor will I offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing So David bought the threshing floor, and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. 2 Samuel 24:24 (NKJV).
King David said he would not offer to GOD what did not cost him anything. In other words, King David will not go around looking for the cheapest things in the markets or some things that were “dashed to him to offer to GOD as a sacrifice. That’s something to learn from him.
Want you to pray this prayer of faith: Father, teach me how to access your kingdom’s prosperity so that| will escape from starvation in these austere times. And teach me to always offer you the best so as not to annoy You with my gifts. In Jesus Name. Amen.
