ALDI has confirmed that a “lush” summer favourite has been axed from shelves with shoppers begging the supermarket to bring it back.

The drink could be a “blend of perfection” for summer and provide drinkers with a refreshing taste over the hotter months.

Taurus Cherry Cider in a four pack of 440ml cans is currently out of stock at the supermarket and cannot be bought in store or online.

Taurus is Aldi’s own brand of cider that had led to legal trouble for the supermarket previously.

One fan posted on X, formerly Twitter, and asked where the cider had gone.

They said: “@AldiUK is true that your cherry cider has been discontinued?”

The supermarket replied and said the drink was part of a special seasonal range and offered hope that it could one day return.

An admin, named Amy, said: “I’ve had a look and this item is part of our Seasonal range. Which means you gotta enjoy it while it’s here. I’ll let the team know you wanted it though.

“And hopefully you’ll see it on our shelves again this year.”

One website said the Britain-wide supermarket giant had been selling the drink between £3.49 and £4.75 across Britain.

Fans have previously described the cider as “lush” in a Facebook group made up of Aldi champions.

All is not lost though for Aldi booze fans, with a Tequila Rose dupe now on sale that tastes “gorgeous” and is affordable too.

UK’s most off-grid community is hidden deep in ‘magic’ woods where locals make cider for cash

Aldi has created their very own dupe of Tequila Rose, Loquito Strawberry Cream Tequila.

Available in stores now, the ready-to-drink delight boasts a delicious blend of sweet strawberry cream flavour with the supermarket’s enticingly rich Loquito tequila.

Costing £9.99 a bottle instead of its competitor’s £14.50, Aldi’s Tequila is a great money-saving find.

Cider maker Thatchers sued Aldi in 2022 as it said the German company “mimicked” its Cloudy Lemon Cider with its own Taurus brand.

Lawyers said the design on Aldi’s £3.99 four-pack looks “highly similar” to Thatchers’ “zingy and refreshing” £5.75 product.

A writ claims that this could cause “checkout confusion”, hitting sales and causing “injury to its reputation”.

But in January Thatchers lost the High Court trademark battle after a judge dismissed the case.

I found a huge ‘evil-looking’ LOCUST lurking in my Aldi bag of salad

A TERRIFIED family found a huge “evil-looking” locust lurking in their bag of Aldi salad.

Mum-of-three Kate Bateman opened a bag of kale from the discount chain and reached in – before the “evil-looking” critter jumped out.

The locust zipped across the room as Kate, her husband Neil and their kids screamed and leapt out the way.

Neil, 49, said: “My wife had come back from doing the morning shop at Aldi in Woking.

“She opened a big pallet of chicken – it smelled so bad. It had gone off and we had to throw it away.

“We thought that was the only problem until my wife put her hand in the bag of kale and this huge thing jumped out.”
