Threat: John Wood Group’s shares have slumped nearly 40% in the past year
John Wood Group is facing calls to ditch the London stock market as shares continue to dwindle.
Activist investor Sparta Capital Management has written to the FTSE 250 engineering group’s chairman, Roy Franklin, to urge him to explore a US listing or the sale of the company.
John Wood’s shares have slumped nearly 40 per cent in the past year, giving it a market cap of around £992million.
‘If the UK public markets are unwilling or unable to engage in Wood’s story, we believe you should undertake a strategic review and actively seek alternative solutions,’ said Sparta’s letter, which was seen by Sky News.
Wood Group shares gained 1.5 per cent yesterday.
