With supermarket shelves getting emptier as we approach the weekend, many parents have been left scrambling for sweet treats.

Luckily, a bargain hunter has shared a super offer that will brighten the holidays.

The money-saver took to the popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing And Bargains UK to reveal the sweet deal.

Giant toys retailer Smyths, with over 100 stores nationwide, has announced it is dishing out Easter eggs for free.

Smyths Toys stores across the nation are hosting their annual ‘Easter Egg Hunt’.

Children and adults are invited to flock to their local branch and nab a whole bunch of delicious Easter eggs up for grabs.

The hunt will kick off at 9am and punters will have to rush against time to spot the little eggs.

And there is one egg up for grabs per each participant.

Staff at stores will give away clue sheets to navigate through the store in search of the delicious prizes.

Those who crack the code will have the chance to choose between a free Barbie or a Hot Wheels Playset.

A Smyths spokesperson said: “You’ll be in with the chance to win a 10ft trampoline, a Hot Wheels City Mega Garage Playset or a Barbie Dream Camper Vehicle Playset in each store!”

But chocolate lovers are urged to be quick as the offer is only available this Saturday, March 30.

Smyths added: “Kids can take part in our free Easter egg hunt in-store on Saturday 30th March from 9am while stocks last.”

Customers can’t sign up to the event ahead of time, but they have to turn up on the day on time.

This may mean that there are queues to get in – so be prepared for this in advance.

And note that the event can only run while stocks last, so if you go later in the day, there may not be any free eggs left.

The post has already gathered more than 400 likes from fellow savvy parents.

Hundreds took to the comments section to share their excitement.

One said: “Take the kids!” and another added: “Something to do with the kids when shopping.”

The event runs every year, and last year, children had the chance to bag free Lego and Disney Mini Brands.

But that’s not the only event happening this Easter.
