VR is the talk of the town again since Apple launched its new Vision Pro headset.
But at an eye-watering $3499 (£2776) it’s not something most people will be buying anytime soon.

For those looking to start their VR journey many turn to the main rival, Meta Quest, owned by social network billionaire Mark Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg has already taken aim at the cost of the Apple Vision Pro but he believes Meta Quest is better “period” in a scathing attack last month.
While we can’t comment on which is better of the two both have had their share of praise and criticism.

And for anyone considering the cheaper Meta Quest option it’s just got a lot more affordable in Amazon’s Spring Sale.
The Meta Quest 2 has just dropped down to £199, from £249.
While there are paid experiences on the Quest headsets, there are plenty of free ones to try too.
“Worth it at this price – you can get the majority of games free especially for single players if you look in the right places as a lot of games I find extortionate for the small amount of playtime,” one user wrote on HotUKDeals.

Another added: “Very tempted…already decided to get the kids one for next Christmas, so wondering do I bite now or will it come down more.”
Apple Vision Pro vs Meta Quest 3: What’s the difference?
It’s important to note that the Meta Quest 2 isn’t Meta’s latest model.
The most recent version is the Meta Quest 3.
As you would expect, there have been some improvements on the Quest 3, such as a more powerful processor so things run smoother and better graphics too.
The Meta Quest 2 was unveiled in September 2020.

For anyone worried about the Quest 2 losing support anytime soon, a Meta boss spoke out last year.
Speaking about 2023’s Gaming Showcase for Quest, Meta CTO Andrew ‘Boz’ Bosworth said all are playable on both Quest 2 and 3, and that the company expects “that to remain the norm for quite a while”.
The Amazon deal ends on Sunday.
